Unfortunately, I don't have any background information to this piece. I don't even have the score handy right now from which I transcribed it. However, as you might have gathered, I'm quite fond of W.A. Mozart, and my good friends Ursi and Jonas Becher brought the notes out to Australia some years ago when they visited us, and we played it: baroque recorder (F) and piano. I have to admit, though, that I only ever played a C recorder and MOZART -the program- came in very handy as it allowed me to produce a part extraction for the recorder, transposed for the C recorder - so I cheated. The spatial orientation here may not be to everyone's liking: the recorder is on the far right, the right hand part of the piano in the middle, the left hand on the far left. The other reason for its publication here is that it shows off several features of the MOZART program: repeats, including a "dal segno" for the Menuett, and of course changes in volume, tempo, clef, and time, as well a MOZART's handling of anacruces.
