I recently aquired a slim volume of "Eight easy pieces for wind" by Chester Music, London 1956, arranged by C.H. Dearnley. This is the edition for instrument and piano, but I still tried to use wind instruments wherever possible, i.e. where I liked the sound. It seems to me this melancholic piece is really in g minor, although it is not noted that way. It is also a fine example of baroque poly- phony. I used the piccolo flute for the first voice and wrote one octave higher, then used MOZART to show the notes a concert octave down, and indicating this through the 8va sign. Enjoy!
