I'm sure Fucik's "Entry of the Gladiators" is the most emblematic piece of "circus music", although, going by the title, it doesn't seem to be meant that way. While the piano version (Boosey & Hawkes) gives an indication of the piece, the brass quintet version is much more fun. The triplets and harmonies in the last section would surely trip any entering gladiator. Unfortunately, MOZART is not a Unicode program, so Fucik's name cannot be properly written: I couldn't find the small letter c with caron (U+010D) in any ASCII codepage.
