BARBARASONG I have no idea why this number, sung by Polly, is called Barbarasong. Like so many numbers in this opera, this one gives the performing artist a chance to project their own interpretation, it's more like a French chanson than an aria. Each verse has three distinct parts, and the last verse is a surprising reversal of the first two. Note the hint of the Moritat (Mack the Knife, Nr.1) after the first and second verse.
